Marketing Lead

Stone Ridge Technology develops ECHELON, a GPU-accelerated technical software application used by reservoir engineers and geoscientists at exploration and production companies and national oil companies worldwide. About the Role We are seeking an accomplished professional to lead our product marketing. The role spans the full range of the discipline — strategy, placement, and hands‑on execution. You will help determine what we say and where we say it, develop the concepts and first drafts that give the work its direction, and direct third‑party creative resources to extend what you produce. You will partner closely with our CEO on positioning and priorities, collaborate with our communications and event coordinator on the programs you take to market, and work alongside the subject matter experts who develop the product — reservoir engineers and computational scientists who understand it deeply and rely on marketing to represent it accurately. This is a highly visible role at the center of a small, technical company, where the distance between a decision and its effect on the business is very short. Responsibilities Strategy and positioning. Working with the CEO, develop Stone Ridge Technology's positioning relative to established incumbents and translate that positioning into every asset, campaign, and conversation. Placement and campaigns. Determine where clients direct their attention — SPE channels, technical publications, LinkedIn, and industry conference audiences — and design, execute, and measure integrated campaigns that reach them across those channels. Collaborate with our communications and event coordinator to provide the messaging and campaign surrounding conference attendance. Technical content and case studies. Work directly with our subject matter experts and customers to translate benchmark results and field outcomes into credible, well‑constructed case studies and technical content that reservoir engineers will find persuasive. Digital presence. Own the website as a commercial asset: positioning, product pages, technical content, and lead capture. Sales enablement and collateral. In collaboration with the technical and communications team, produce the brochures, one‑pagers, presentation materials, and sales assets that support a considered, technical purchase. Video and visual production. Produce straightforward video content directly, and brief and direct third‑party production resources for more ambitious work. Creative direction. Develop first‑draft concepts for campaigns, collateral, and video, and direct third‑party creative resources to bring them to a finished standard. Webinars. Organize and run webinars in partnership with our communications and event coordinator — topic selection, speakers, promotion, and follow‑up. Qualifications A minimum of five years in business‑to‑business marketing, currently in a marketing role. Demonstrated ownership of a marketing function, or of a substantial and clearly defined portion of one, with accountability for results. Experience running integrated campaigns end to end — strategy, execution, and measurement. Breadth across several marketing disciplines: demand generation, content, digital, product marketing, or brand. This role requires range rather than depth in a single specialty. The confidence and curiosity to engage directly with technical subject matter. You need not be a petroleum engineer, but you must be able to sit with one, follow the discussion, and produce work that withstands their scrutiny. Comfort working as part of a small team, in close coordination with colleagues in communications, events, and engineering. Based in Houston. This role is hybrid. Preferred Skills Marketing experience within oil and gas, energy software, or technical simulation software. Experience marketing complex software to an engineering audience. A degree in a technical or scientific discipline alongside a marketing career. Familiarity with the SPE ecosystem. Strong visual and design judgment.
