Nurse Practitioner

SUMMARY

Reports to the Medical Director and the Director of Operations; will provide compassionate and excellent patient care by performing courteous, efficient, and accurate service. Assists with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations. Mentors clinical personnel, and serves as a liaison with patients, staff, providers, and leadership. Can perform independently and as part of a treatment team. RESPONSIBILITIES

Assess, plan, and treat patient needs within a primary care setting and triage patients of all ages. Order medically indicated labs, x-rays, ECGs, point-of-care tests, injections, referrals, and prescribe medications/treatments. Perform minor surgical procedures such as lacerations and incision and drainage. Consult with other Providers on medical care as necessary. Maintain and adequate patient flow on-site by directing and communicating clearly with assisting clinical staff. Maintain quality assurance of charts and testing. Handle telephone calls and follow up care about services rendered from patients, providers, company accounts, as well as other clinical staff. Attend required provider/staff meetings. Maintain excellent and timely patient records for clinical use, billing use, Physician and peer review. Educate patients about preventative care and the prescribed treatments. Manage patients who do not require complex medical management or specialized treatment. Demonstrates the ability to assess, plan, and implement individual patient care appropriate to the age and specific needs of the patient. Communicates appropriately with the person served regardless of their age. Complete charting and required paperwork in a timely manner. Active participation in the development/review of office policies and procedures as well as instructional handouts Promotes a safety-conscious work force. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Nurse Practitioner: Master’s degree from an accredited advanced practice program; Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. One of the following current licensures in the State of Rhode Island: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree and a graduate of an accredited physician assistant program. Must be certified by NCCPA. Current license as a physician assistant in the State of Rhode Island is required. Certified in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). Knowledge of internal medicine, generalist and family practice procedures required. Organizational and analytical skills necessary to maintain efficient workflow. Ability to adjust responsibilities to accommodate a fast-paced work environment while maintaining excellent customer service and staff interactions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively and courteously deal with patients and families, clients, coworkers, clinical staff and physicians. Progressive thinking for budget, training and quality issues. Strong leadership qualities.

EXPERIENCE

One year of related experience required, two years preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Healthcare environment such as acute care hospital, physicians’ office and ancillary healthcare enterprises. Any hazards are minimized by adherence to established safety procedures and precautions.

$127,504.00 - $161,782.40
