Description

American Traveler is hiring a Case Manager RN for a 13-week acute hospital assignment requiring 2 years of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Acute hospital case management department
• Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday 0830-1700 (5x8 hours)
• One weekend shift required per month, replacing a scheduled weekday shift
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to any inpatient unit as needed

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required by start date (compact license not accepted)
• BLS certification required; AHA certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Proof of high school level education required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, and prior authorizations
• Determines medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines and manages appeals and denials
• Familiarity with CMS and HIPAA regulatory guidelines expected
• Epic training provided during orientation for those with preferred but not required experience
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Returning core staff must wait 12 months before rejoining and be verified through HR prior to consideration
• Maximum RTO of 5 days per assignment, to be submitted at time of application
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
