Sub-Section Manager - Electrical Software & Systems

Job Summary Intergalactic, a part of Unison, a GE Aerospace Company, is a team of engineers, technologists, designers, mathematicians, and problem solvers committed to reviving the no‑boundaries mentality in aerospace. As the Electrical Software & Systems Sub‑Section Manager for the Intergalactic thermal systems team, the candidate will lead a team of electrical software and electrical systems engineers that design and develop products and technical solutions. The scope includes technical improvement of existing products and components as well as support for new business and product opportunities. The manager will provide significant input into the team’s priorities and make decisions that impact quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team’s work. Responsibilities Lead the electrical engineering group supporting TMS products and serve as a best practice resource for the design process. Drive execution of NPI commitments and projects to be met on time and budget. Lead high‑level schedule and budget estimating activities related to TMS design projects. Resource plan to meet customer and internal deliverables. Collaborate with Supply Chain teams on project expectations and execution. Participate as a reviewer in technical and program reviews. Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned projects. Mentor and give guidance to less experienced engineers. Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in design engineering. Take new perspective on existing solutions and use technical expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Use multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical field from an accredited college or university. Minimum of 10 years of relevant software and systems engineering experience in aerospace or industrial products. Minimum of 5 years of people leadership / team leadership experience. High level of engagement and energy. Demonstrated project management / resource management skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Customer service mindset with ability to adapt to change. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
