• 5-8 in-house 24-hour call shifts per month
• Average 25 patients per shift
• High acuity busy practice with 3,000 deliveries per year
• 5 midwives provide support to MD providers on L&D
• Emergency cases include hysterectomy and ectopic pregnancy
• Required skills include high risk pregnancy management
• Ultrasound performance and interpretation required
• C-section decision-making and complicated delivery skills needed
