Billing Administrative Specialist (Part-Time)
Pay Rate: $21.00$22.00 per hour
Position Type: This is a contract assignment 24 hours per week
Position Summary
We are seeking a professional organized and compassionate Billing Administrative Specialist to support the day-to-day administrative and billing operations of our healthcare practice. This position serves as an important first point of contact for patients and requires excellent attention to detail strong computer skills and a commitment to providing positive patient experience.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working with patients insurance information electronic systems and a variety of administrative tasks. Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. Training will be provided on the practices electronic medical record (EMR) systems and insurance verification processes.
Key Responsibilities

• Verify patient name date of birth demographics insurance information co-pay requirements and payment method.
• Verify insurance eligibility and coverage using online insurance platforms.
• Collect patient co-pays and other payments during visits.
• Check patients out at the conclusion of their appointments.
• Complete insurance billing-related and administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.
• Assist new patients with completing consent forms screening forms releases of information and other required documentation.
• Access healthcare and insurance websites to obtain and verify patient information.
• Contact physicians offices as needed to obtain laboratory results and other medical documentation.
• Organize and maintain patient educational materials.
• Update the practice website blog and assist with Facebook and other social media posts.
• Complete general administrative and wellness documentation.
• Perform other administrative duties and assist with office needs between patient appointments.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

• Strong computer literacy and ability to learn new software systems quickly.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Comfortable navigating Facebook and other social media platforms.
• Comfortable working with insurance websites and online platforms; training will be provided.
• Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) system is preferred but not required.
• Experience working in a medical office healthcare or related environment is preferred.
