• Education

• • College graduate with degree in accounting. Certification by state board as a certified public accountant is strongly recommended.

• Experience

• Requires five years accounting experience (CPA firm or in hospital environment preferred). Twenty-four months of on-the-job training required. Proficiency in working with Lotus 1-2-3 and Excel. Working knowledge of various computer software....Microsoft Office, Monarch, SMS, HMS, Depreciation Solutions, Imaging. A results oriented perspective is essential.

• Machine Skills: Computer - PC and CRT, calculator, fax, copier, scanner, and telephone.

• Communication Skills: Interpersonal, phone, writing procedures and documentation.

• Professional Skills: Highly organized, dedicated with a positive attitude; team player/leader. Initiative and ability to accurately perform duties under time pressure while maintaining close attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

• Accounting Skills: Profit and loss statement, balance sheet, trial balance, general ledger and supporting journals, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliation, budget, cost system, strong computerized accounting skills.

• Physical

• Normal hospital environment. Extremely close eye work -- work on computer up to eight hours per day and continuous reading. Hearing. Hearing within normal range. Motor coordination and finger dexterity required to operate computer and calculator. Talking, repetitive motion and writing, lifting and moving up to 50 pounds. Continuous sitting (99% of time), some walking and bending. Filing and storing files.

Repetitive Motion: Repetitive motion of the hands, back, arms and legs.

• JOB SUMMARY

• • Responsible for the planning, directing, and coordinating of the TLH Accounting area of St. Bernards Enterprise by acting/ serving as the direct CFO of the PACE Organization.

• Coordinates audits by outside audit companies and Medicare.

• Coordinates the preparation of the Medicare Cost Report.

• Supervises and coordinates the corporate entities accounting activities related to budget preparation, implentation, and monitoring.

• Analyzes reports monthly as they relate to revenue, costs, and other financial and statistical analysis.

• Compiles special reports for the Administrators.

• Monitors activities of internal accounting procedures.

• Administrator for OnBase Imaging System.

• Handles multiple projects with numerous deadlines for each project. Works under time pressures.

• Excellent creativity and good analytical abilities.

• A good team player/leader.

• Interacts frequently with various SB Health Care entities and departments.

• Communicates financial information to SB Health Care entities & departments through management reports.

• Sets priorities in order to meet deadlines and flexibility to address ad hoc issues.

• Develops custom spreadsheet programs using Lotus 1-2-3, Excel, etc.

• Responsible for the accuracy of the financial statements for various SB Health Care entities.

• Routinely, assigns and responsibly directs staff. This position is required to utilize independent judgment.
