Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Psychiatry to join our Inpatient Nursing Unit. The successful candidate will provide care and support to a diverse patient population, including children, adults, and geriatrics. The RN will be responsible for ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients in the psychiatric unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and support for patients with mental health disorders.
• Monitor and assess patients' conditions, documenting key observations and interventions.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established protocols.
• Educate patients and families on mental health, treatment options, and coping strategies.
• Participate in de-escalation and crisis intervention as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards within the unit.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a psychiatric setting.
• Current RN licensure in Virginia.
• Required Certifications: BLS, HWC, MANDT, TOVA-certified de-escalation/physical hold training.
