Family Law Attorney (Solo Practice)
Location: Tampa, FL
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Family Law Attorney to lead a dedicated office in Tampa, Florida. This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney who is passionate about family law and is ready to operate with a high degree of autonomy while receiving the support and resources of an established firm.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage a full caseload of family law matters from consultation through final resolution.
- Represent clients in hearings, mediations, depositions, settlement conferences, and trials.
- Handle cases involving divorce, child custody and timesharing, child support, alimony, paternity, domestic violence injunctions, post-judgment modifications, and enforcement actions.
- Develop legal strategies and provide sound legal advice tailored to each client's objectives.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, marital settlement agreements, parenting plans, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive legal arguments.
- Negotiate settlements while advocating for clients' best interests.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, ensuring they are informed throughout the legal process.
- Oversee the daily operations of the Tampa office and collaborate with support staff to ensure efficient case management.
- Mentor and work closely with paralegals and administrative staff to maintain high-quality legal services.
- Maintain accurate case files and documentation using the firm's case management system.
- Ensure compliance with Florida Bar rules, court procedures, and firm policies.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships within the legal community.
Required Qualifications
- Active member in good standing with The Florida Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of Florida family law litigation experience .
- Demonstrated experience independently handling family law cases from inception through trial.
- Strong courtroom advocacy and litigation skills.
- Experience conducting hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple active cases while meeting strict deadlines.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and client relationship management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with the firm's leadership team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience managing or supervising a legal office or legal team.
- Established litigation experience in Hillsborough County and surrounding jurisdictions.
- Experience using legal case management software such as Rocket Matter or similar platforms.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
