RN Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Job Summary:

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Nursery care. The nurse will provide skilled nursing care to newborns, including patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning. The role requires collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of neonatal care. Candidates must hold certifications in NRP, ACLS, and BLS, with at least 2 years of relevant nursing experience. Responsibilities:

Provide skilled nursing care to neonates in NICU and nursery settings.
Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide neonatal resuscitation as needed.
Educate and support families regarding newborn care and treatment plans.

Required Skills & Certifications:

Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Louisiana.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in NICU or nursery settings.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

Experience in neonatal critical care or NICU nursing.
Previous contract nursing experience.
Strong interdisciplinary team collaboration skills.

Special Considerations:

This is an 8-week contract position requiring 36 hours per week.
Shift hours are from 7 PM to 7 AM.
Must be able to start as soon as possible.

Scheduling:

Night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM.
36 hours per week over the contract duration.
