Physician (Primary Care) Manchester NH VAMC -FT-Recruitment Incentive/EDRP Authorized

Job Overview Provides direct care to patients in the Primary Care department and offers clinical guidance to PA's and other staff as requested. Key Responsibilities Participate in interdisciplinary team activities to achieve optimum quality of patient care. Engage in progressive improvement of service delivery, including programmatic participation in facility initiatives. Evaluate patients to assess changes in physical and mental status and write progress notes in the chart. Coordinate with providers within and outside the Service Line, other divisions of the Manchester VA structure, and CBOC Clinics as per the veteran’s plan of care. Ensure barriers for Veterans and staff are minimized to promote a positive work environment. Foster positive working relationships with staff, peers, and Veterans. Perform patient evaluations, order and interpret diagnostic blood and fluid tests and imaging studies when indicated. Provide medical care as appropriate and maintain credentialing and privileging compliance. Participate in hospital committees, departmental and hospital in-service programs, and educational programs. Engage in continuous quality improvement through peer review and FPPE/OPPE processes. Actively participate in compliance readiness activities as requested by leadership. Perform other duties as assigned. Participate in quality assurance programs, chart reviews, and complete medical records in accordance with relevant bylaws and regulations. Serve as a leader or active member on Medical Center committees and attend Medical Service Staff meetings. Teach effectively and provide guidance to others involved in the delivery of Primary Care-related educational programs. Qualifications U.S. citizenship (non-citizens may only be appointed when no qualified citizens are available in accordance with VA Policy). Proficiency in written and spoken English. Subject to background/security investigation. Must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
