From modernizing treatment plants to improving water distribution, transmission and wastewater collection systems, your work will directly support safe, reliable, and sustainable services for residents and businesses. This role is built for a hands-on engineer who enjoys tackling complex municipal challenges, guiding junior staff, and collaborating with a high-performing team. You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle—planning, design, construction, and leadership—while building expertise and shaping infrastructure that has a lasting community impact. What You’ll Do Lead and independently complete engineering designs using professional judgment Support or act as Project Manager; assign tasks, set schedules, and monitor team progress Perform QA/QC reviews on engineering work and ensure accuracy Make key design decisions and coordinate impacts across projects Identify and resolve technical, schedule, and budget issues Support bidding and contractor selection; respond to contractor questions Monitor construction and supervise field work Prepare addenda, recommend change orders, and contribute to proposals (scope, schedule, cost) Communicate directly with clients on technical matters Sign and seal engineering documents; serve as technical expert or PM on select projects What You Bring Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering from an accredited program Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain within 6 months 4+ years of engineering/design experience, including water and/or wastewater projects Strong technical writing, communication, and plan-reading skills Proficiency with engineering tools, analysis equipment, and software Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities across routine and complex tasks Why HR Green Work on impactful municipal water and wastewater projects serving local communities Hands-on experience across design, construction, and project leadership Opportunities to mentor junior engineers and grow into leadership roles Collaborative team environment focused on delivering reliable, sustainable infrastructure Meaningful work that directly improves public health and essential service Benefits Not only does HR Green provide you with a place to grow, thrive, and enjoy your work, but we are also dedicated to delivering a comprehensive and multi-faceted benefits package.
