Backbone Restaurant
Backbone is an upscale neighborhood restaurant from husband and wife team Nathan McCall and Karen Yoo . They were the original Chef Owners of McCall's Meat & Fish , a beloved Los Feliz Butcher Shop & Bakery for over 10 years. Going back to their Michelin roots, the Chefs have worked in such notable restaurants as Sona (LA), Daniel (NYC) Campanile (LA) and Arzak (Spain), and are now creating an elevated experience close to home. Expect Spanish and Asian influences, with a firm foundation in French technique. Included in LA Times 101 Best Restaurants in 2025.
We are looking for an Expeditor / Runner / Busser to join our team! We are an intimate restaurant with a small staff. Open Dinner Service only Tue - Sat. Pooled House.
Job Duties and Expectations:
- Helms Expo Station for the night while providing support for FOH as needed.
- Delivers food to restaurant/dining room patrons in a timely, professional, and efficient manner. Clears tables in the same way.
- Follows proper food handling of guest allergies.
- Checking orders for accuracy: The runner should make sure that each order matches the guest's request and that any special requests are properly noted.
- Communicating with kitchen staff: The Runner/Busser should communicate any changes or issues with orders to the kitchen staff, and make sure that all orders are ready in a timely manner.
- Clearing tables: After guest have finished their meals, the Runner/Busser should promptly clear the table and reset it for the next guest. Return dirty dishes, glassware, and utensils to the dishwashing area.
- Assisting with cleaning duties: The Runner/Busser assists with general cleaning duties, such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down tables.
- Providing excellent customer service: We pride ourselves on exceptional dining experiences and building relationships with guests
- Stocking Service stations: Set up and restock service stations, tableware, glassware, ice and other items needed for service.
- Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment.
- Must have current Food Handlers Certificate
