Shipping Material Handler Full-Time Operative Pittston, PA, US 4 days ago Requisition ID: 1381 Summary/Objective The Material Handler moves and stores various materials within the warehouse. Main duties include safely loading and unloading items to/from trucks, shelving and bays; recording inventory statuses and making sure deliveries properly match purchase orders. Essential Functions Able to be certified in operation of appropriate material handling equipment, e.g., reach truck and forklift Operate material handling equipment safely at all times Move product between production areas and warehouse or freight Gather dimensions and weights for freight shipments Load trailers Proficient with RF guns (product scan and transfer from FG to locations), reach truck and forklift certified Lookup inventory in Acumatica as needed Gather product from all FG (finished goods) areas and transfer to the proper location Create intercompany transfer orders Check physical inventory against system inventory for items being transferred Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by regularly inspecting and reporting any problems to maintenance/safety Verify product transfers through Acumatica scan transfer module Communicate daily issues and pertinent information to Operations Manager or Team Lead as needed. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The facility is climate controlled; however, temperature may vary due to outside temperatures and doors being opened and closed. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items 50 pounds unassisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position during the first shift of the workday, normally Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm; may require starting and ending later during busy season.
