About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Multiple options available Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred - EPIC experience highly preferred Description: Three open positions available for a Registered Nurse in the Surgery specialty. Shifts available include 06:30-15:00, 11:00-19:30, and 14:00-22:30, Monday through Friday. Types of patients include minimal pediatrics. Service lines include GI, general surgery, urology, gynecology, vascular, orthopedic, neurological, robotics, reconstructive plastics, podiatry, and cardiovascular experience is a plus but not required. The nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to manage long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates tasks to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets the expectations of applicable competencies, either as a leader of self, others, or leaders. Consistent with nursing scope and standards of practice, provides care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
