DutiesManages risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk) and cybersecurity and privacy principles used to manage risks related to the use, processing, storage, and transmission of information or data and the cybersecurity and privacy principles and organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation).Serves as an IT Cybersecurity Specialist ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.Works in the ACF Risk Management Branch, Vulnerability Management Section to ensure all cybersecurity personnel provide the appropriate treatment of risk, compliance, and monitoring assurance from both internal and external perspectives.Develops and interprets policies, processes and related standards including Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) in accordance with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the DHHS, and ACF applicable Federal government requirements, guidance, and directives.Leads the dissemination of advisories to system owners and the Assessment and Authorization team and provides vulnerability information dissemination sources (e.g., alerts, advisories, errata, and bulletins).Leads/conducts studies designed to identify potential improvements in the way IT is applied to key business functions applying business process engineering concepts and methods.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentU.S. Citizenship requiredRegistered or exempt from Selective Service ( not previously completed, a background security investigation will be required for all appointees.
