RN - Stepdown

Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a stepdown unit specializing in both oncology and medical-surgical care. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care and collaboration with a diverse healthcare team.

Unit Type: PCU Oncology (5 North)

Primary Patient Population: Adult Oncology PCU and Trauma PCU patients

Number of Beds: 18

Shift Length: 12 hours

Shift Hours: 6:30 PM 7:00 AM

Schedule: Every other weekend with self-scheduling options

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a stepdown setting.

Monitor and manage patient conditions, including titration of medications such as insulin and Cardizem.

Administer chemotherapy and other common medications as needed.

Engage in hourly rounding and bedside shift reporting to enhance the patient experience.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing assistants, case managers, social workers, and educators.

Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required; previous oncology experience preferred, but strong PCU experience is acceptable.

ACLS Required

BLS (AHA) Required

ONS/ONCC Certification Preferred but not required

Current RN licensure is required.

Travelers may float to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care.

Two days of unit orientation will be provided.
