Biometrics (Fingerprint) Technician - On Call

Biometric Technician (BT) Support the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) Application Support Center (ASC) operations in La Brea, CA. Primary Responsibilities Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking lawful immigration to the United States. Ensure all individuals entering the ASC are approved applicants or authorized visitors, providing crowd control and enforcing ASC rules and policies. Provide front-line customer service as a representative of Amentum and the U.S. Government. Offer a high level of customer service, maintain a cheerful and inviting demeanor, and treat applicants with respect. Safeguard areas containing Personally Identifiable Information (PII) such as paperwork, IDs, biometric data, and reports. Capture electronic fingerprints, photographs, and signatures within established processing times. Screen applicants for valid appointment notices and identification before allowing entry into the ASC. Use crowd control barriers to maintain a safe and organized entry area. Inspect applicants and belongings to ensure compliance and address any health-related concerns during pandemics or other crises. Conduct periodic interior and exterior facility checks, reporting concerns to the Site Supervisor. Assist the Site Supervisor or Immigration Service Officer with contacting local law enforcement or first responders when necessary. Maintain accurate administrative records, including tracking processing times, reconciliation paperwork, visitor control logs, and facility check sign-offs. Required Qualifications Must be U.S. citizens to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. High School diploma or equivalent. Proficient in spoken and written English. Ability to stand upright during scheduled shift duration, excluding meals and breaks. Physical ability to hold and grasp applicants’ hands to obtain quality fingerprints. Capacity to work in a high-paced environment with the public. Basic computer skills and typing ability. Successful completion of biometrics training and certification within 60 days.
