Responsibilities

• Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing following established procedures and safety standards.
• Explain procedures to patients to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of collected specimens and patient interactions.
• Follow protocols for specimen collection, handling, and processing to ensure specimen integrity.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment in the patient testing area.
• Demonstrate professionalism and confidentiality while interacting with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
• Perform duties independently with minimal supervision, adhering to deadlines and quality standards.

Required Skills

• Ability to collect high-quality, error-free blood specimens in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in phlebotomy techniques, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Keyboard and data entry experience.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred.
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime based on staffing needs.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
