Vehicle Technician

divh2Vehicle Technician/h2pOur client, an AV manufacturing company, is looking for a Vehicle Technician for their San Francisco, CA location. Responsibilities include configuring, setting up, maintaining, diagnosing, and signing off on vehicles for safe on-road usage. The role may require local travel to perform this work from time to time. The technician will sync with the Shop Foreman to ensure all vehicles are in a ready state for demonstration and testing requirements. They will perform diagnostics and escalate to the appropriate engineering team if required, coordinate and drive the repair process, create diagnostic test plans as the team sees fit, maintain service records and document quality field reports, maintain shop facilities, ensure tools are in order, and workspace is in excellent working condition. The technician will also assist with parts inventory, location, and organization, and build an excellent service experience for internal teams and business partners./ppRequirements include extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehicles. A minimum of 2-4 years of technician experience is required, along with a reliable, self-starter work ethos. The candidate must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deliverables, be a team player, and have excellent written and verbal skills. Honesty, responsibility, and outstanding communication skills are also necessary. Forklift and/or gantry operation is required: current and valid forklift operator certification compliant with Cal/OSHA standards. Experience in an automotive-focused engineering or research lab (i.e. Dyno, Battery, etc.) is preferred, as is knowledge of CAN, wiring diagrams, and soldering. Experience and ability to tow a car hauler and other large trailers to transport fleet vehicles is required. A technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repair is preferred./ppWhy should you apply?
