Registered Nurse - Orthopedic Trauma
This is a 13-week contract position.
Day shift, working 3x12-hour shifts from 07:00 - 19:30, including every other weekend and a holiday during the holiday period. No call required.
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with expertise in Orthopedic and Trauma care. The ideal candidate will specialize in pre-op and post-op orthopedic procedures, such as total hip, knee, and shoulder replacements, as well as orthopedic trauma cases.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients pre-operatively and post-operatively.
- Utilize safe patient handling equipment and orthopedic supplies, ensuring best practices in patient management.
- Monitor patient vital signs and assess for any complications.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while maintaining accurate patient records using Epic EMR.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care delivery.
- Engage in patient education and support to aid recovery processes.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Active RN license required.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an orthopedic or trauma setting.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Must pass a mandatory EKG examination upon compliance.
- Experience with Epic EMR is required.
