Staff Nurse - (6S) Adult Surgical

Unit Description 6 South is AnMed’s 28-bed Adult Surgical/Med‑Surg Unit. The unit focuses on colon, lung, abdominal, bariatric, vascular, and trauma patients. It also cares for complex wound management, ostomy patients, and dialysis patients. The unit is accredited by DNV for Top Performers on Key Quality Measures in surgical care. Duties & Responsibilities Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient needs utilizing the nursing process. Actively participates in providing patient care as defined by multidisciplinary plan of care. Provides direct and indirect nursing care to patients with diverse cultural backgrounds and varying ages pertinent to their assigned areas. Manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with all team members. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients and their families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. Qualifications AnMed will accept applications from Graduate Nurses that meet SC LLR criteria. Licensed Registered Nurse in South Carolina. 0–1 year experience for entry‑level staff nurse positions. BSN preferred; ADN candidates must be enrolled in a BSN program within 18 months of the hire date. BSN is required within four years from the date of hire. BLS preferred; successful completion of a hospital‑provided BLS course within 90 days from the date of hire. Continues to learn and grow professionally through assignments with differing patient loads and complexities, clinical development programs, and involvement in professional organizations. ADN nurses who were hired as RNs prior to January 1, 2013, and continue to work as acute‑care staff nurses since that date, are grandfathered and the requirement to obtain a BSN within four years does not apply.
