Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM, 3 shifts per week, 36 scheduled hours per week. Start date: 08/31/2026, end date: 12/07/2026, duration: 14 weeks.

Job description: Minimum experience: 2 years; 1st timers are accepted. Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHHS prior to start. General skills and work setting requirements include care for diagnoses such as ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, ESRD on CRRT. Block scheduling is not guaranteed; no travel pairs (regardless if one is on another unit). Ratio/census: 1:2-3 (traveler should be prepared for the possibility of taking a 3rd patient); 24 rooms with an average daily census of 19. Patient population: adults to geriatrics. Unit systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBARS. Scrub color: navy blue. RTO: 7 days maximum per contract. Weekends: every other weekend unless specified elsewhere. Floating: yes, within facility/scope of practice as needed. Call requirements: not specified. Holidays: if one major holiday falls in the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays are listed below: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Years Eve/New Years Day. Compliance: full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time, the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Clinical screen: candidate will be reviewed by clinical to determine clinical fit, if clinical pass and within Piedmont guidelines, candidate will be sent to the manager for final decision. Clinical screens will be sent on a case-by-case basis. Locals accepted - same rate.

Patient diagnoses: ARDS, sepsis, stroke, STEMI, DKA, post-op complications, cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, liver failure, drug overdose, ESRD on CRRT. Special procedures/unit details: traveler should be experienced and prepared for the possibility of a 3 patient ratio. Special equipment: cardiac monitoring, BIS, train of four, artic sun, FloTrac, IABP.

Piedmont submission rules: local candidates: accepted at same bill rate. RN licensure: GA or compact license required at time of submission. Internal return rule: Perm/Per Diem/FCSS must be away from all Piedmont facilities for 1 full year before applying as a traveler. Return travelers: if cancel or facility DNR, traveler must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying + ensure profile reflects all time worked at Piedmont Health. RTO policy: all RTO must be finalized at time of submission. No RTO or schedule requests can be requested post offer or onsite. Max RTO: 7 days per contract. Holiday RTO: holidays (6) - Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day. If 1-2 holidays fall during assignment: no holiday RTO can be requested. If 3 holidays fall during assignment: 1 holiday RTO may be considered. Compliance: onboarding: must complete core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing. Deadline: all compliance documents due Tuesday prior to start. Modules: modules are non-billable, hours are factored in NBO. Modules are completed during orientation, and vary by specialty. Modules are recorded via transcripts.
