*This role is open to remote or hybrid candidates (East Coast preference), with hybrid being central to our New York, NY or Charlotte area offices. Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours. As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll design and deliver the scalable, secure, and maintainable systems that power Bankrate's digital experiences. Senior Engineers here don't just write great code — they shape architecture, champion engineering standards, and connect their work directly to customer and business outcomes. Contribute to the evolution of technical architecture and engineering patterns in alignment with organizational standards. Build and optimize continuous delivery pipelines, improving deployment speed and reliability. Partner with product and design peers to translate business objectives into actionable technical work. Scope, estimate, and deliver medium-to-large initiatives with minimal oversight. Collaborate across teams to resolve technical challenges, dependencies, and integration issues. Mentor engineers through code reviews, pair programming, design discussions, and collaborative problem-solving. Contribute to the definition and improvement of team-level engineering practices and technical standards. Demonstrate curiosity and continuous learning — evaluating tools, techniques, and technologies that could improve team and business outcomes. What We’re Looking For: Proficiency in multiple programming languages and deep expertise in at least one technology domain. Strong understanding of software architecture principles and ability to apply them effectively within team scope. Experience designing distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-based services. Proven ability to make informed tradeoffs balancing cost, scalability, security, and maintainability. Effective communicator, able to influence decisions and share complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Consistently delivers end-to-end solutions independently, from design through production. Contributes to improving code quality, design consistency, and operational reliability across the team. Models accountability, technical rigor, and collaborative problem-solving. Naturally curious and growth-minded - stays current with industry trends and applies relevant insights to the team’s work. Compensation: This range reflects total cash compensation, which may include base salary only or base salary plus target bonus, depending on the role. Where eligible, equity may also be offered separately and not included below. Actual compensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications.
