Detailed Description Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following: Works to ensure import shipments and documentation are in compliance with applicable US customs law. Acts as a liaison with customs offices. Collects and analyzes compliance data for trends and potential cost savings programs such as NAFTA, US 9802 - return after repair and the use of Temporary Import Bonds, etc. Evaluates and selects brokers for clearance of product. Analyzes import data for internal and external charges. Interfaces with customers on product classifications and sourcing strategies. Responsible for process development and reengineering related to import transactions and duty management. Provides leadership, expertise, guidance and training to the supply chain, commodity, procurement and program management functions, ensuring that the latest practices and procedures are followed. Interfaces with various levels of Celestica management to ensure processes are in place and working such that we maintain compliance with compliance processes. Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Good knowledge of an electronics manufacturing environment, material and processes. Expert knowledge of the US Tariff Schedule and duty minimization programs. Expert understanding and interpretation of rules of origin and customs valuation rules and regulations. Good understanding of internal and external customer requirements. Good financial, analytical, and negotiation skills. Ability to identify and resolve high complexity process/system problems using financial, analytical, and/or statistical models. Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines. Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem-solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers. Physical Demands Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Salary The stated range includes Base Salary and target Short-Term Incentive (STI) compensation only. A comprehensive benefits package is offered in addition to this range. Annual salary 101-133k Typical Experience Six to eight years of relevant experience. Typical Education Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience. Educational requirements may vary by geography.
