RN - CVICU

Registered Nurse - CVICU - 12 Hour Nights

This is a 13-week contract position.

12-hour night shifts, including weekends as scheduled.

The CVICU is a mixed acuity unit that provides care for step-down and ICU status patients. Nurses are responsible for monitoring and administering care to patients with various cardiac conditions, especially those recovering from surgical procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to 1:1 fresh hearts and devices, 1:2 ICU status patients, and 1:3 step-down status patients.
• Administer and titrate various medications and drips including but not limited to Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, and Levophed.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes in condition.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide optimal patient care.
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients and perform hemodynamic monitoring.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Must hold active BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum experience of 6 hours post-op care for open heart surgery patients.
• Experience with CRRT, temporary pacemakers, post-permanent pacemaker care, and chest tube management.
• Proficiency in handling acute MI patients and pre/post catheterization care.
• Experience in hemodynamic monitoring and use of arterial lines.
