Mission Recruiting is partnering with a respected California law firm that represents school districts, county offices of education, and other public educational institutions throughout the state. The firm is seeking an experienced Special Education Litigation Attorney to join its San Diego Education Law practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for an attorney who enjoys sophisticated litigation and wants to build a rewarding practice focused on special education law, administrative advocacy, and regulatory compliance . You'll represent educational institutions in matters involving the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) , Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act , and other state and federal education laws, helping clients navigate complex legal issues that directly impact students and school communities. What You'll Do Represent school districts and public educational institutions in special education litigation and administrative proceedings Handle matters involving IDEA , Section 504 , and related California and federal education laws Draft pleadings, motions, administrative filings, briefs, and legal memoranda Conduct legal research and develop litigation and hearing strategies Represent clients in administrative hearings, mediations, and related proceedings Advise educational leaders on legal compliance, risk management, and best practices Interpret and apply complex statutory and regulatory requirements Collaborate with experienced education law attorneys to deliver practical, client-focused legal solutions Qualifications Active California Bar membership in good standing 4+ years of experience in litigation, administrative law, education law, civil rights law, or a related practice area Strong legal writing, research, analytical, negotiation, and advocacy skills Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory frameworks Excellent communication, client counseling, and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and sound professional judgment Compensation Quarterly performance bonuses Annual bonus opportunities Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life and disability insurance Comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees Why Join This Firm?
