Job Title: Welder / Fabricator Job Description
This role focuses on designing, fabricating, joining, and repairing a wide range of metal components and structures using multiple welding techniques. You will work primarily with thick-gauge carbon steel, with exposure to aluminum and stainless steel, while interpreting blueprints and meeting detailed customer and company specifications in a large industrial manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Design, fabricate, join, and repair equipment, fixtures, and various types of metal objects and structures using MIG, TIG, Inner shield, and Flux-cored Arc Welding (Dual shield) techniques.
- Work primarily with thick-gauge carbon steel while also handling some aluminum and stainless steel components as needed.
- Determine the layout of weld parts based on drawings, blueprints, and specific company or customer requirements.
- Execute high-quality welds in all positions, including overhead, from underneath, lateral positions, and within complex shapes such as tubes and other confined geometries.
- Assist with welding of components in areas of expertise to support team projects and production needs.
- Assist with the design and set-up of work centers to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate welding and fabrication processes.
- Complete all required weld documentation, including line check sheets and material movement paperwork, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Use appropriate tools, measuring devices, forklifts, cranes, and fixtures to handle materials and complete welding tasks safely and effectively.
- Follow established safety procedures and quality standards while working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- At least 2+ years of welding experience, including a minimum of 1 year in a similar industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, Inner shield, and Flux-cored Arc Welding (Dual shield).
- Ability to work confidently with thick-gauge carbon steel and familiarity with aluminum and stainless steel welding.
- Capability to meet D1.1 welding requirements.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics for layout and fabrication.
- Demonstrated ability to use appropriate tools, measuring devices, fixtures, forklifts, and cranes required for welding and fabrication work.
- Ability to perform welds in all positions, including overhead and in confined or complex geometries.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in completing weld documentation and material movement paperwork.
- Technical, vocational, or military training in welding or a related field is a plus but not required.
- Experience with aluminum MIG welding is a plus.
- Previous experience in a large industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong blueprint reading skills and familiarity with fabrication processes.
- Comfort working with a variety of fixtures and work center setups.
- Solid understanding of safe material handling practices using forklifts and cranes.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a large industrial manufacturing facility designed to support high-volume welding and fabrication work. The primary work area is air-conditioned, providing a more comfortable environment during intensive welding operations. At times, you may need to work outside in the yard to access or move materials, where conditions are not air-conditioned. You will work around heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and various fixtures, and you will regularly use welding tools and measuring devices. The environment emphasizes safety, proper use of equipment, and adherence to industrial best practices while maintaining a professional and efficient production atmosphere.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.50 - $24.66/hr.
