Woodinville Custom Wines is the premier custom winemaking facility in Western Washington, located in the West Valley District of Woodinville Wine Country. As the only operation of its kind in the region, we provide state-of-the-art equipment, expert oversight, and a clean, tightly managed production environment that supports boutique wineries from grape to bottle. Our team uses advanced systems - including TankNet and InnoVint - to ensure precision, consistency, and real-time production data for our clients.
We are seeking a Winery Production Lead (Cellarmaster level) to oversee daily cellar operations, support winemaking leadership, and uphold the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This is a hands-on, leadership-focused role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic production environment and is committed to excellence in Washington winemaking.

Position Overview
The Winery Production Lead is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising cellar activities while maintaining strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures. This role works closely with the Winemaker Director and Assistant Winemaker to ensure production goals are met, interns are trained and supported, and all cellar operations are performed safely, efficiently, and with exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities

Cellar Leadership & Daily Operations
•  Lead, train, and supervise cellar assistants and interns
•  Ensure all cellar activities meet quality, safety, and SOP standards
•  Manage client work order requests, assign tasks to the production crew via InnoVint, and confirm final execution completion
•  Perform and oversee racking, blending, barrel work, sanitation, and bottling
•  Safely and confidently operate forklifts, including stacking barrels, moving bins, dumping fruit, and handling cased goods
•  Maintain a clean, organized, and professional cellar environment

Harvest Responsibilities
•  Oversee crush pad operations, fruit receiving, sorting, and equipment adjustments
•  Monitor fermentation health daily, including Brix, temperature, and sensory evaluation
•  Operate all major winery equipment: conveyors, de-stemmer, crusher, optical sorter, pumps, filtration systems, etc.
•  Assist in interviewing, selecting, and onboarding harvest interns
•  Identify and troubleshoot issues quickly and effectively

Safety Management
•  Ensure all safety procedures are followed at all times
•  Identify new safety concerns and recommend procedural updates
•  Promote a culture of safety, communication, and accountability

Record Keeping & Data Management
•  Assist with production database entries in TankNet and InnoVint
•  Capture and communicate key measurements and production data accurately
•  Support continuous improvement through analysis and documentation

Quality & Process Improvement
•  Participate in tastings, evaluations, and blend trials
•  Troubleshoot mechanical issues and support equipment maintenance
•  Research and propose improvements to enhance quality and efficiency
•  Maintain a refined palate and contribute to sensory assessments

Requirements
•  Degree in Enology or related field preferred
•  36 consecutive months in a wine production role (including Harvest, racking, blending, and bottling)
•  Proven forklift proficiency (barrel racks, bins, fruit, cased wine)
•  Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to diagnose or repair equipment
•  Ability to work extended hours and 7 days/week during harvest
•  Ability to lift 50 lbs and work 10+ hours on your feet
•  Comfortable working in hot, cold, wet, slippery, and noisy environments
•  Valid driver’s license
•  Ability to read and follow SOPs and safety protocols
•  English communication skills (written and verbal)
