Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working with intermediate-age students (Grades 4-5)
• Background supporting students in special education settings, particularly autism programs
• Familiarity with Safety Care protocols or similar de-escalation and behavior support techniques
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with teachers and other paraprofessionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Adaptability and positivity in busy, changing classroom environments

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct classroom support to students with autism, including assistance with academic tasks and social or behavioral interventions
• Work under the direction of certified teaching staff to reinforce instructional plans and deliver accommodations as outlined in student IEPs
• Promote positive student behavior and safety while employing established protocols such as Safety Care
• Assist with daily routines, transitions, and the development of student independence
• Maintain accurate records as needed and communicate effectively with the educational team
