Travel Physician Assistant in Orthopedic Surgery

Travel Physician Assistant in Orthopedic Surgery for a 13-week contract in Bishop, California. Earn up to $6,000 per week based on experience while working with a skilled orthopedic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist orthopedic surgeons during procedures as a First Assist
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat orthopedic patients in clinic and hospital settings
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations
• Manage pre-operative and post-operative orthopedic care
• Order and interpret imaging studies, laboratory tests, and diagnostic procedures
• Apply splints, braces, casts, and other orthopedic devices
• Perform joint injections, wound care, and minor orthopedic procedures within scope of practice
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery expectations
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR)
• Deliver exceptional patient-centered orthopedic care

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Current California Physician Assistant License
• Active DEA License
• Current BLS Certification
• NCCPA Certification
• Minimum of one year of Physician Assistant experience
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical decision-making skills

Preferred Skills:

• Three (3) years of Orthopedic Surgery experience
• Previous First Assist experience
