About the Company: At Peninsula Pediatrics, we are a busy, community-focused pediatric practice located in the Rockaway beach neighborhood of New York City. We are dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to children and their families. Our team includes part-time and full-time providers, a nurse, medical assistants, and an administrative team working collaboratively across weekday and weekend shifts. RESPONSIBILITIES: Welcoming patients into the office with open arms and a smile. Performing patient assessments and obtaining vital signs. Performing and documenting patient intake (temperature, height, weight, head circumference, etc.) Completing medical forms including school and day care forms. Monitoring and always ensuring efficient patient flow. Performing in office procedures such as strep and flu tests, viral testing; urinalysis; nebulizer treatments; finger stick blood draw, etc. Ensuring exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient leaves and prepared for the next patient. Assisting with light housekeeping duties which include spills. Stocking exam rooms/treatment rooms with medical supplies and designated chart forms. Answering phones, scheduling appointments, collecting copays, etc. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently to and within established timeframes QUALIFICATIONS: MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE AND BE A CERTIFIED MEDICAL ASSISTANT. You are one of the few faces of our small business in a small community. Therefore, your customer service skills must be WORLD CLASS! Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Displays sensitivity to the needs of patients, visitors, and coworkers. Excellent work ethic and communication capabilities in stressful situations. Functions as a respectful member of the health care team. Has pediatric experience. Is a good multi-tasker. High level of professionalism, maturity and superior attention to detail. Ability to work as a member of a small team handling a wide range of responsibilities. Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
