Emergency Room Nurse (RN)

An opportunity is available for an experienced Emergency Room Nurse (RN) to join a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will provide high-quality care to patients in the Emergency Room, demonstrating clinical skills and comprehensive knowledge in various critical situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care in a high-acuity setting.
• Perform triage assessments; manage patient flow efficiently.
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Monitor and document patients' conditions, responses to treatment, and ensure accurate record-keeping using Epic EMR.
• Manage patient holds and facilitate smooth transitions to inpatient care when necessary.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain licensure and stay current with emergency care practices.

Shift and Scheduling

This position requires working evening shifts from 3 PM to 3 AM, including weekends and a holiday commitment during peak months. The schedule will be determined based on department needs, and conflicts with pre-requested time off will not be accommodated during the initial week of assignment.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in an Emergency Room or similar high-acuity setting preferred.
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC.
• Ability to perform triage and manage patient care efficiently.
• Strong clinical skills in handling a diverse range of emergency situations, including cardiac, stroke, and trauma cases.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Working Environment

The Emergency Room features 56 beds, with the capacity for additional hall beds. It includes a separate triage area, holding area for inpatients, and designated treatment rooms for psychiatric care. The department operates with a staffing model to ensure safe nurse-to-patient ratios.

Additional Information

• Orientation consists of one day of compliance training followed by a second day of department-specific orientation.
• Professional attire is expected; scrub colors can vary.
• Floating to other units is not required.
