Job Overview TNAA TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Pediatric Occupational Therapist for a travel job in San Diego, California. Specialty: Pediatric Occupational Therapist Discipline: Therapy Duration: 20 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Responsibilities As an Occupational Therapist (OT), you will be responsible for the evaluation and development of a plan of care for a variety of patients needing to improve, regain, and develop skills needed for daily life. You will work with disabled, ill, or injured patient populations in an acute care setting. Review patients' medical history, ask the patients questions, and observe them doing tasks. Evaluate a patient's condition and needs. Develop a treatment plan for patients, identifying specific goals and the types of activities that will be used to help the patient work toward those goals. Help people with various disabilities perform different tasks. Evaluate a patient's home or workplace and identify potential improvements based on the patient's health needs. Educate a patient's family and employer about how to accommodate and care for the patient. Recommend special equipment and instruct patients on how to use that equipment. Assess and record patient's activities and progress for patient evaluations, for billing, and for reporting to physicians and other healthcare providers. Provide timely and accurate documentation following state and/or insurance guidelines. Requirements Must have a minimum of 6 months of experience; new graduates are encouraged to apply. Hold BLS and NBCOT-OTR National Certification with state-specific licensing. Occupational Therapists should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean, or stoop without difficulty. Possess sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
