Assistant General Manager

Location: Mobile Airport – Mobile, AL 36608 Reports to: General Manager Position Type: Full Time Direct Reports: Childcare Associates & Managers, Front Desk Associates, MODs, and AGMs FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-exempt – with additional Monthly Bonuses PTO Eligible: Yes Benefits Included: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k) OVERVIEW The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in leading a team focused on delivering an excellent customer experience while driving revenue growth. The role oversees all operations in the manager’s absence, ensuring superior service, community partnerships, membership sales, and staff development within operational budgets. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Lead others on behalf of the General Manager when absent. Conduct sales outreach via phone and online communications to generate membership numbers for the location. Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members, prospects, and guests, ensuring staff uphold superior customer service guidelines. Support staff growth by providing training, coaching, and skill‑development opportunities. Collaborate with the General Manager and Regional Manager to address all club issues—both in‑person and online—with professionalism and timeliness. Promote superior customer experience and elevate CLUB4 Fitness within local communities. Partner with the General Manager to grow club business through sales profit and staff motivation. Ensure accurate and timely daily deposits and compliance with all policies, procedures, and organizational standards. Monitor inventory, employee payroll, and scheduling to keep the club adequately staffed at all times. Maintain a clean facility that passes inspections. Schedule and reassign staff as needed during the General Manager’s absence. Protect confidential proprietary and sensitive information. Partner with GM and MOD to develop strong communication and relationships among team members and members. Adhere to all company policies and procedures. Complete any additional duties assigned by the General or Regional Manager or Managing Partner. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills & Abilities : Hard‑working, goal‑oriented, enthusiastic, and energetic. Solid work ethic with strong decision‑making skills. Self‑starter who takes initiative with minimal direction. Basic computer, math, and communication skills. Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry. Detail and results‑oriented with high professionalism and organizational skills. Strong time‑management skills to handle multiple priorities. Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Desire to learn club operations and manage personnel in the GM’s absence. Willingness to travel to other clubs as needed. Minimum Certifications / Education / Experience Some supervisory or leadership experience in a high‑level customer‑service industry preferred. A High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; a 2‑ or 4‑year degree or four years of supervisory experience is preferred. Must hold CPR/AED certification.
