The Hot Springs School District 23-2 is looking for a Kitchen Staff Baker/FFVP/Cashier. This position will be from 6:00am to 2:00pm, following the school calendar. Salary range is $15.50 - $16.25 DOE.

Primary function: Provide support to the Food Service Director while providing the full range of kitchen assignments for the Hot Springs School District.

Qualifications: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma; one year of related experience; and evidence of ability to follow written instructions and oral direction are required.

Reports to: The incumbent is directly supervised by the Food Service Director.

Responsibilities: The incumbent is responsible for setting up a sequence of tasks within the framework of the kitchen established by the Food Service Director. Responsible for accomplishing his/her assigned tasks in a safe manner, reporting safety hazards and reporting any accidents promptly.

Duties:

• Assist in prepping Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks for students and staff when needed.
• Complete daily production worksheets.
• Complete HACCAP records
• Responsible for sanitizing and cleaning kitchen areas.
• Support the dishwasher position by cleaning dishes and/or washing dishes when needed.
• Restocking, cleaning and prepping salad bar, bison bar and snack cart daily.
• Stock any food deliveries in the appropriate areas.
• Running the Point-of-Sale cash register computer system.
• All other duties assigned by the Food Service Director.
• Prepare food items for the FFVP program.
• Transporting kitchen items and food (loading and unloading) daily several times a day.
• All other duties as assigned as needed.
• No overtime is allowed unless prior approval by the Administrator.
• Prompt and regular attendance is required for this position.

Guidelines: Written guidelines include the district policies, material prepared by the State, and directives provided by the Food Service Director and/or Superintendent.

Personal contacts are with school employees, and occasionally with students, parents and visitors.

Physical demands: Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Good distant vision in one eye and ability to read without strain, printed material the size of typewritten characters is required, glasses permitted. Ability to hear the conversational voice, with or without a hearing aid, is required, except that some positions may be suitable for people who are blind or deaf. In most instances, an amputation of arm, hand, leg or foot will not disqualify an applicant for appointment, although it may be necessary that this condition be compensated for by use of satisfactory prosthesis.

Working conditions will primarily be inside the buildings, however working in a variety of work schedules set by the Food Service Director.
