Senior Accountant

Schedule: Full-Time, Exempt Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 About the Role A mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Senior Accountant / Assistant Controller to support financial operations, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. Reporting to the CFO and supervising one Accountant, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while helping modernize accounting processes in a collaborative and stable environment. Responsibilities Manage general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close Prepare financial statements, journal entries, and audit schedules Reconcile bank and investment accounts Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies Strengthen internal controls and accounting procedures Supervise and mentor one accounting team member Partner with departments across the organization to support financial operations Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge Advanced Excel skills Excellent communication and organizational skills Preferred Nonprofit accounting experience Supervisory experience Process improvement experience CPA or CPA-track candidate 100% employer-paid medical coverage for employees and dependents 403(b) retirement plan with employer match Generous PTO and holiday schedule Birthday holiday Professional growth opportunities Stable organization with exceptional employee retention Why Join?
