Senior Digital Product Owner - Banking

Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Sr. Product Owner - Banking/Cash Management provides strategic leadership over digital product initiatives in RBC's Banking & Lending business within US Wealth Management. This role drives the product strategy, innovation, and delivery of cash management solutions—including Bill Pay, Money Movement (ACH/Wires), checking accounts, and debit cards—to strengthen our platform and client experience.What will you do?Strategic LeadershipDefine digital product strategy for banking products, including cash management accounts, money movement, and checking/debit card servicesEstablish product roadmaps aligned with lending business goals and customer needsIdentify market opportunities and competitive gaps in banking and cash management productsDrive innovation in customer-facing and internal platform experiencesEnsure compliance with banking regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), and consumer protection frameworksTeam Leadership & DevelopmentCoach cross-functional teams on product strategy, regulatory requirements, and banking industry best practicesFoster collaboration between product, compliance, risk, fraud prevention, and business teamsPortfolio & Financial ManagementOversee banking product portfolio performance and ROIManage budget for technology used for banking productsPrioritize investments based on customer value, revenue impact, and strategic fitPresent business cases to secure funding for digital transformation and product innovationMonitor product profitability, cost structures, and operational efficiencyStakeholder & Executive EngagementCommunicate product performance, market insights, and competitive positioning to Banking & Lending leadershipManage relationships with key stakeholders including Banking/Lending Product team, vendors, IT/App Dev partners, compliance, and risk teamsCommunicate product vision and roadmap across the organizationRepresent product function in regulatory and strategic business discussionsEnsure alignment with RBC's broader digital and lending strategyProcess & GovernanceEstablish product management frameworks aligned with banking regulations and RBC governance standardsImplement decision-making structures for product launches and feature prioritizationEnsure compliance with federal banking regulations, consumer protection laws, and fair lending requirementsDrive continuous improvement in product development processes while maintaining security and data privacy standardsCoordinate with Security, Compliance, Risk, and Fraud Prevention teams on product initiativesSupport product documentation and audit requirementsWhat do you need to succeed?Must-haveBachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance or technology7+ years of product management experience in financial services (banking, lending, or consumer finance)5+ years leading product management teamsProven track record of scaling digital products in highly regulated banking environmentsStrong understanding of banking industry and lending operationsExperience navigating regulatory compliance, risk management, and consumer protection in financial servicesExcellent strategic thinking and executive communication abilitiesDeep knowledge of agile and digital product development methodologiesWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
