Purchasing Specialist

A consumer products organization is seeking a Purchasing Specialist in Jersey City, New Jersey. This hybrid role supports purchasing activities, vendor coordination, and a new global packing program in a fast-paced, highly organized environment.

• Shift: Day shift
• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 9am to 5pm
• Setting: Hybrid (2 days in office, 3 days remote)

• Manage purchase order activities, including order placement, vendor coordination, shipment tracking, invoice review, and vendor confirmation follow-up
• Serve as a point of contact for vendors and internal store partners regarding purchasing and replenishment activity
• Coordinate internal purchasing requests by gathering specifications, requirements, and supporting documentation
• Place replenishment orders and manage order routing assignments
• Maintain accurate records of vendor communications, pricing, availability, reorder information, and product details
• Support the launch and ongoing coordination of a new global packing program by tracking tasks, timelines, deliverables, and follow-up items

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience in procurement, purchasing, planning, buying, operations, or project coordination
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to gather requirements and coordinate across multiple stakeholders
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple initiatives

• Experience with SAP purchasing and procurement modules
• Familiarity with shipment tracking tools, freight booking, or LTL shipping processes
• Experience supporting cross-functional business initiatives or process improvement efforts
