Director, Media: Programmatic Lead

Updated: June 18, 2026 Location: Remote, United States Job ID: 14760 We are searching for our next Director, Programmatic Media, to join our Performance Media team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of omnichannel programmatic campaign planning and considers themselves a resourceful, curious problem solver. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering advanced campaigns employing a multi‑media approach. The candidate must possess the ability to break down technical and complex omnichannel programmatic concepts into simple, easy‑to‑grasp ideas for clients and internal stakeholders. A storyteller at heart who conveys innovative and forward‑thinking programmatic strategy and explains how it fits into the overall media plan is a must. In addition, this person will be responsible for maintaining critical working partnerships across our media group, including database services, demand side platform providers, and direct‑buy media partners. They must have deep experience working hands‑on within a trading desk environment and be willing to roll their sleeves up to support ongoing campaign initiatives. Core Responsibilities Responsible for flawless execution of the agency’s programmatic omnichannel media campaigns. Craf and author superior omnichannel programmatic strategy that takes advantage of the latest technology and applies it within the challenging pharmaceutical advertising landscape to surpass client goals. Advanced analytical skills showcasing the ability to interpret overall campaign performance (within and beyond KPIs) and articulate results to non‑media experts. Lead day‑to‑day client operations and contribute to critical POVs and agency thought leadership. Communicate with clients verbally, in written form, and with strong presentation skills. Exhibit an entrepreneurial attitude: excited at the idea of building the agency with new tools, ideas, and opportunities. Integrate cross‑channel strategy and execution, with a specific interest in biddable media. Be diligent and disciplined yet comfortable in a casual and collaborative environment, passionate about advertising, and enjoy teaching and learning about programmatic media. Requirements Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 6+ years of experience in programmatic media. Must be willing to travel to the client office in San Francisco every other month. Experience in day‑to‑day programmatic campaign management across multiple DSPs – experience with Pulsepoint, DeepIntent, Lasso, Doceree, Trade Desk is a plus. Experience in Pharma required. Strong POVs, proactively engaged in industry and agency thought leadership. Comfortable building relationships with clients and managing up. Coach and mentor team members, sharing insights about industry trends. Utilize technical knowledge to troubleshoot platforms, systems, and tools. Interpret campaign performance and provide creative optimizations. Possess an entrepreneurial streak, excited about building the agency with new tools, ideas, and opportunities. Desire a place to learn and build something special in a casual and collaborative environment. The annual base salary for this position ranges from $130K to $150K. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions or bonus based on company or individual performance.
