Senior Accountant

Seeking an experienced accounting professional to support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, and compliance activities. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound accounting knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Looking for someone to start right away Apply established accounting principles and company policies to routine and complex accounting activities. Record, review, and analyze financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare and post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts. Perform recurring bank, credit card, and balance-sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Monitor expenses and review transactions for proper classification, accuracy, and business purpose. Support the processing of payments to vendors, service providers, and other business partners. Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities. Assist with financial reporting, account analysis, and other accounting-related projects. Contribute to the development and improvement of accounting procedures, controls, and internal policies. Support internal and external audit requests, including gathering documentation and addressing follow-up items. Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records and supporting documentation. Provide guidance or assistance to less-experienced accounting team members when needed. Take on additional accounting and finance responsibilities based on organizational needs. Qualifications & Skills Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals, financial reporting, and general ledger processes. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines. Comfortable working independently while collaborating with management and other departments. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively with large volumes of financial information and identify inconsistencies or unusual activity. Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when communicating financial information to management. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or comparable systems. Adaptable and willing to learn new systems, processes, and accounting requirements. Ability to adjust priorities and responsibilities as business needs evolve. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Approximately 4+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience. Experience within healthcare, healthcare services, or another regulated industry is a plus.
