Description

Installation: Stringing and securing new fiber optic cables on poles, ensuring proper tension and support.

Maintenance and repair: Inspecting for wear and tear, re-tensioning cables, and repairing damaged lines to prevent service interruptions.

Splicing and termination: Joining new cable sections and connecting lines to service points using specialized tools and techniques.

Testing: test signal integrity, pinpoint issues, and verify compliance with standards.

Safety: Adhering to strict safety protocols

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Technical knowledge: Understanding of fiber optic cables, splicing, and testing equipment.

Physical fitness: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.

Comfort with heights: Experience working safely from aerial lifts and/or bucket trucks.

Attention to detail: Necessary for handling delicate fiber cables and performing precise work.

Collaboration: Working as part of a crew under the supervision of a lead technician.

This is a Contract position based out of Fremont, CA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
