Licensed Journeyman Electrician – Now Hiring at QTS Data Center in Cedar Rapids, IA

Location: Cedar Rapids, Iowa (Open to travelers with a reciprocal license to IA)

*Position Overview: A large‑scale data center construction site in Cedar Rapids is seeking multiple licensed Journeyman Electricians for long‑term work. This role offers high earning potential, steady overtime, and daily per diem. Electricians will support installation, conduit work, power distribution, and commissioning activities within a mission‑critical environment.

*Compensation & Schedule:

• Pay: $64/hour
• Hours: 5 days/week, 10-12 hour shifts (minimum 50 hours/week)
• Overtime: Built‑in weekly OT
• Estimated Weekly Take‑Home: ~$4,000+
• Per Diem: $175/day worked

*Key Responsibilities:

• Install, bend, and run EMT and rigid conduit
• Pull wire and perform terminations
• Install lighting systems, switchgear, panels, and cable
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and repairs
• Work with low‑ and medium‑voltage systems
• Support large‑scale commercial and industrial electrical construction
• Ensure all work complies with NEC, project specifications, and safety standards
• Collaborate with foremen, project managers, and other trades on site
• Maintain accurate documentation of installations and system updates

*Required Experience:

• Journeyman‑level experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction
• Conduit bending (EMT & rigid)
• Terminations and panel work
• Lighting and electrical system installation
• Blueprint and schematic reading
• Electrical troubleshooting
• Experience on large‑scale projects; data center experience preferred

*Licensing Requirements:

A valid Journeyman Electrician License is required. Eligible licenses must be from a state with Iowa reciprocity, including: AK, AR, CO, MN, MT, NE, NH, ND, OK, SD, TX, WI, WY

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $64.00 - $64.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
