Your store is a hub for environmental activism, sport, and positive vibes. You act as an ambassador for Patagonia in your business community, network across stores, and align all activities with Patagonia’s core values. You maintain a best‑in‑class customer service experience that is consistent, authentic, engaging, and aligned with the company’s mission. Job Specifications Starting wage: $25.00 - $28.58 per hour Employment type: Summer seasonal, 2026 Shift type: Part time (hours available) Minimum age: 18 years Housing availability: No Activism / Social Media Focus Summary As the Retail Activism Team Leader, you lead activism programming for the store. Your energy and passion for the local community set the tone for environmentalism and social justice, encouraging a team approach. You: Contribute to a welcoming energy that invites diverse ideas from staff and the community Lead engagement and education for the staff Promote and oversee activism hours, ensuring new and current staff are engaged As the Retail Marketing Team Leader, you lead events programming, social media, and local email marketing. You creatively plan and execute a wide range of subjects, involve the store team in idea generation, and collaborate with partners to educate staff on brand marketing campaigns. Job Responsibilities Customer Service That Is Not Bound by Convention Empower staff to offer outstanding service through consistent personal examples and encouragement Offer proactive coaching to elevate customer service Being Business‑Minded Strategize with the Store General Manager to meet expense and profit goals Maintain a strong visual merchandising presence and clean store environment Hire with a focus on diversity and community representation Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, training, and acknowledgment Being Action‑Oriented, Taking Initiative and Delegating Partner with the In‑Store Visual Merchandiser to identify and execute priorities Leading By Example and Actively Coaching Inspire staff to live Patagonia’s mission in store and community Serve as a role model and delegate daily priorities of the Retail Environmental Activism program Facilitate team‑based ideation and problem solving Maintain positive relationships across management and staff Keep lines of communication open and ensure expectations are met Identify growth opportunities and partner with management to address them Ensure optimal inventory levels on the sales floor Valuing and Demonstrating Quality in All That You Do Ensure safety and well‑being of customers and employees Assist management in hiring employees aligned with the company’s philosophy Being a Life‑Long Learner Demonstrate initiative and seek opportunities to grow skill sets Welcome and grow from feedback Assist in training and development of all team members and foster continual learning Creating a Safe Store Environment Maintain a safe and secure environment, resolving concerns promptly Commit to a supportive, positive, respectful environment free of harassment Job Requirements Proven service experience and ability to thrive managing a team‑based atmosphere Passion for communities, environment, and caring for others Experience leading in ambiguous atmospheres, learning on the fly, and solving problems creatively Strong relationship‑building skills and customer‑centric approach Experience managing people and fostering employee growth and development Highly developed emotional intelligence Sound judgment and ability to manage operations in the absence of the General Manager Flexibility to adapt to competing priorities in a fast‑paced retail environment Strategic business planning aptitude responsive to local community needs High school diploma or GED equivalent (business training preferred) 1–3 years of retail supervisory experience; ski industry preferred Ability to multitask and manage multiple customers in a fast‑paced environment Flexible schedule, including nights, holidays, and weekends Fluent English communication skills The expected pay range is $25.00 – $28.58 per hour.
