Job Title: Welder and Fabricator Job Description Targeting a candidate with experience in fabricating stairways, handrails, guardrails, platforms, and structural components. You will replace a seasoned team member and take ownership of projects fromlayout through final weld, producing accurate, clean, and code-compliant work with minimal supervision. Responsibilities Fabricate stairways, handrails, guardrails, platforms, and structural assemblies to specification. Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to plan and execute work accurately. Perform layout, measuring, and fit-up using tape measures and other standard tools. Cut, fit, and weld components using MIG welding to produce strong, clean welds. Perform additional welding processes such as flux core and TIG welding when required. Operate standard shop equipment, including saws, press brakes, ironworkers, drill presses, and related machinery. Ensure all work meets applicable codes and standards, including structural and stair/rail requirements. Work with carbon steel and other metals to fabricate structural and architectural components. Apply OSHA and IBC stair and rail standards in daily fabrication activities. Use proper material handling techniques, including safe operation of forklifts or overhead cranes when applicable. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in a small shop environment. Work independently to meet project deadlines while maintaining high quality and craftsmanship. Essential Skills 3–5+ years of fabrication experience in a shop environment. Proven experience fabricating stairways, handrails, guardrails, and structural components. Proficiency in MIG welding, including structural and staircase/handrail welding. Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills for structural and fabrication drawings. Ability to perform accurate layout and measurement using tape measures and related tools. Experience working with carbon steel materials. Ability to produce clean, accurate, and code-compliant welds and assemblies. Experience applying OSHA and IBC stair and rail standards in fabrication work. Capability to work independently and consistently meet deadlines. Hands-on experience operating standard fabrication equipment such as saws, press brakes, ironworkers, and drill presses. Additional Skills & Qualifications TIG welding experience is a plus. Flux core welding experience. Experience working with aluminum materials. Forklift or overhead crane operating experience. Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship. Comfort working in a small, team-oriented shop environment. Why Work Here?
