Occupational Therapist (OT) Job Summary: Tampico Healthcare Center, a 128-bed skilled nursing rehabilitation center located in the heart of Walnut Creek, CA, is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our in-house therapy team! As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to work with patients who require short-term rehabilitation therapy to longer-term restorative care. Responsibilities: Evaluate patients in a timely manner following physician referral Develop effective treatment plans and provide education for clients, families, and caregivers as a subject matter expert Communicate with supervisors and other healthcare team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans Participate in inservice training programs for other staff in the facility Document all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintain patient records according to company policy Provide accurate and timely billing records and supporting clinical documentation Instruct patients' families or nursing staff in maintenance programs Coordinate necessary durable medical equipment and adaptive equipment for patients to facilitate safety and independence in ADL's Ensure resident abuse or neglect does not occur Observe confidentiality and safeguards for all patient information Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements Career Advantages: Rare in-house opportunity with premium rates Practice in an environment built on integrity and progressive, ethical care Electronic documentation system Work collaboratively with a supportive team of therapists and nursing staff About Tampico Healthcare Center: Our team is dedicated to providing a superior quality of care in a quiet and intimate environment, designed to ensure a relaxing and expedient recovery.
