Licensed Practical Nurse – PediatricsAs a Pediatric LPN at Phoenix Indian Medical Center, you will provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in an outpatient clinic setting. You will work alongside physicians, nurse practitioners, and a multidisciplinary team to deliver well-child exams, immunizations, patient education, vital sign monitoring, and care coordination for Native American children and adolescents. This is a meaningful role where your compassion and clinical skills directly improve the health of an underserved community.Since this is an IHS facility, a license in Arizona is NOT required.ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care to pediatric patients in the outpatient clinicAssist physicians and nurse practitioners with well-child exams, sick visits, and follow-up appointmentsAdminister immunizations and medications per provider ordersObtain and document vital signs, height, weight, and developmental screeningsPerform point-of-care testing (glucose, urinalysis, rapid strep, etc.)Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, nutrition, and preventive careCoordinate referrals and follow-up care with specialty servicesMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health recordEnsure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and prepared for patient visitsSupport infection control protocols and clinic safety standardsQualificationsActive, unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in any U.S. stateGraduate of an accredited practical/vocational nursing programMinimum 1 year of experience in pediatric nursing or a pediatric outpatient setting preferredCurrent BLS certification (American Heart Association)Experience with immunization administration and pediatric vital sign assessmentStrong communication skills and ability to work with children and familiesProficiency with electronic health recordsScheduleOutpatient – Monday through Friday, daytime hours. No nights, no weekends, no on-call.
