Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned outpatient patients and develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction
• Conduct 60-minute evaluations and treatments, utilizing clinical reasoning to progress patients toward discharge within an established length of stay
• Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner including goal writing, functional quality indicator assessments, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry in compliance with state, federal, and intermediary guidelines
• Delegate and direct discipline-specific therapy services for assigned patients, ensuring care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approvals
• Serve as an educator to patients, families, students, and coworkers; provide supervision and evaluation of students as assigned
• Actively participate in professional development, continuing education, and performance improvement initiatives in alignment with organizational objectives

Required Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license in good standing in the state of California
• Prior outpatient Physical Therapy experience required; new graduates will not be considered
• Proficiency in completing clinical documentation in compliance with state, federal, and payer guidelines
• Adherence to the state Physical Therapy Practice Act and all applicable regulatory and professional standards
• Completion of all state-mandated continuing education requirements

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience supervising or mentoring Physical Therapy students in a clinical setting
• Familiarity with functional quality indicator assessments and letters of medical necessity
• Demonstrated involvement in professional organizations or continuing education beyond minimum requirements
