Summary : Anesthetizes patients undergoing surgical, medical, obstetrical, diagnostic, psychiatric, or resuscitative procedures either by general, regional, or monitored anesthesia. The schedule for this position will be 4 10s per week with no call. Responsibilities Assess patient pre‑operatively in a timely and efficient manner, including performance of history and physical, development of anesthesia plan of care, documentation of assessment and plan, explanation of care, risks and benefits to patient and family, assembly of equipment and drugs; meets annual departmental quality metrics for turnover times, on‑time starts and QI submissions. Attend continuing education and professional meetings, participate in institutional and departmental committees, and contribute to the clinical learning experience of other health‑care professionals. Contribute to performance improvement, evaluate problem areas, plan and implement measures to assure improvement in patient outcomes, assist in collection of data and participate in Impact Care activities. Maintain anesthesia records, Impact Care reports and other documents in a legible manner. Provide anesthesia by performing an ASA‑approved checklist of equipment, creating a safe environment for patient, administering anesthesia in accordance with the Department of Anesthesiology standards of care, placing appropriate lines and monitors, adjusting care and notifying appropriate personnel in abnormal situations, transporting patient at the end of the case, reporting pertinent information, and documenting anesthesia care. Qualifications Education Requirements: Completion of a Nurse Anesthesia program accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA). Licensure/Certification Requirements: Licensed as an Advanced Practice Provider (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) in the state of North Carolina; board certification if required by the Department.
