Float Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist (Float) - Johnson City, Bristol, Kingsport & Greeneville, TN Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Float Phlebotomist to join our team and provide coverage across multiple outpatient locations in Johnson City, Bristol, Kingsport, and Greeneville, TN. In this role, you will perform venipuncture and skin puncture procedures, collect and process specimens according to established protocols, and ensure accuracy throughout the specimen collection process to support quality patient care and diagnostic testing. This position requires flexibility and reliability, as you will travel between assigned locations to provide staffing support where needed. Mileage reimbursement is provided. Schedule * Monday: Johnson City | 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM * Tuesday: Bristol | 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM * Wednesday: Kingsport | 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM * Thursday: Greeneville | 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM * Friday: Johnson City | 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Float Position: Coverage across 4 locations with mileage reimbursement offered. Key Responsibilities * Perform venipuncture and capillary (skin puncture) collections following established procedures and safety standards. * Properly identify, collect, label, and process patient specimens to ensure specimen integrity and accurate test results. * Receive, accession, and process laboratory specimens according to departmental protocols. * Maintain accurate patient and specimen records using laboratory information systems and office software. * Provide exceptional customer service while interacting with patients, providers, and team members. * Adhere to all quality, compliance, and infection control standards. * Support laboratory and clinic operations by performing clerical and administrative duties as needed. * Travel between assigned locations to provide coverage and support. Required Qualifications * Completion of a Phlebotomy Training Program. * Minimum of 2 years of experience in phlebotomy, specimen collection, and/or laboratory specimen processing. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. * Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced healthcare environment. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient care. * Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Preferred Qualifications * ASCP Phlebotomy Certification (preferred but not required). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnson City, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
